Nome GoldNome Offshore Placer Gold Mine

The Nome Offshore Gold Placer consist of 20,000 contiguous acres in the Bering Sea, which is state of Alaska owned. The property is located in western Alaska at the famous gold mining town of Nome (where approximately 5 million oz. of gold has been mined onshore in the last 100 years). Now the largest deposits of gold that are left have been found offshore, within 2 miles of the beach. This property is in the Bering Sea and lies in less than 25 feet of water. The pay zone is only 4’ to 6’ deep in non-cemented gravels.
Over the last several years, the state of Alaska has auctioned off leases to the highest bidder. And at this time, there are no others available. Arctic Gold Company LLC holds the only prospecting permit in the entire Nome offshore district. This allows us to “prospect” in 4 locations, up to 5 acres per year, west of the causeway, and 1 just east of the causeway.
Our mining area starts where the drilling program stopped (except for some widely separated drill holes that show extremely high values). The line where the drilling stopped is very rich. There are over 4,000 drill holes and 57 bulk samples in this offshore area, which well defines the pay zone. Gold values from drill hole data shows an average of .041 oz. per cubic yard. There are 116,188 oz. of proven gold reserves and 104,891 oz. of probable gold reserves. Proven reserves are calculated on drill holes not exceeding 70m X 70m. Probable reserves are calculated by drilling on 100m X 200m grids. This drilling did not cover any where near the total mineable ground.
The University of Alaska at Fairbanks, School of Mining Engineering, recently completed a digital map of gold intensity for this offshore placer, and determined a regional resource of 3.1 to 3.4 million ounces within the upper meter of sediment for an average pay grade of 0.014 oz. / cubic yard. (This is an average including areas figured into the calculations with only a trace amount of gold.)
