SOLD!! Burnt River in Oregon is an interesting area in that the origional gold strikes here took place during the Civil War, and the region started out with a history of being overlooked. Much of the ground in the area was worked later by large dredges that, due to the economics of the times, went for the backstrap, and left the chuck steak.
The rest of the property is in dry high bank placers. Some sampling of the exposed bars has run to $80 per yard, but the bulk of the property averages $10 per yard. Measured faces of 72 x 8 x 84 feet, and 155 x 4 x 20, and 200 x 5 x 60 contribute to a total measured tonnage of 105,890 yards. This is an affordable venture that would be perfect for a family, or a group of retired friends, investing in the Banks of the Burnt River, making withdrawals when something to do, or spending money, was needed. |
