| This is one of the few good gold mining properties assessable by road in Alaska, making the cost of operation much lower than the more remote deposits. It is located on a side road 7 miles off the Dalton Highway 220 miles north of Fairbanks. There is also a good airfield for small to medium aircraft. This property has not been producing for a long time because of the health problems of owner. He has realized that he will not be able to work it again. The claims have only been slightly worked. The adjacent claims on same deposit just up stream are now being worked (profitably, I am told). The previous owner of the adjacent claims said he had tested some on this property and found very good pay. The gold was deposited during the last ice age by a glacier which  left the gold bearing gravels. There is very little overburden to remove and excellent areas for settling ponds.I have not been to the property myself and the information on property is sparse. I was informed by BLM person in charge of this area that the operations in the past have been clean so no known environmental concerns existed. The reports done by AuMiller and Richard Swainbank are partially included in pdf files. This is all the material I have. There is opportunity to speak to owner if very interested. As I have no pictures of claims I have attached the pictures of next claim up and you can see Prospect Creek. This is perhaps one of the best placers on the road system yet is priced low for quick sale at $180,000. I have check with BLM and they certified everything current on claims as of last fall.
